I don’t know about you but I have definitely made choices that if I had my time back, I’d do things a little differently. But they have all put me on a path that has lead me to where I am now. And I think we all have to look at these sometimes inconvenient hiccups as gifts, because it develops the person we are now. I used to be paranoid about my age… I used to think I had a used by date because of that number. WRONG! I am in my fifties now and proud of it. Embrace who you are right now… and love it!
If we take a look at exercise and nutrition for example… what may work for a 25 year old woman working a 8-5 job, will probably not work for a woman who is 45, running after kids and working shift work to keep the mortgage payments up to date. There are so many factors controlling the way our bodies metabolize food and respond to exercise. And more importantly, hormones, and stress levels are probably worlds apart. And this opens up a whole new world!!
So in a nutshell, ‘Fit Funky and possibly maybe forty and totally Fabulous’ is really a way of life. It is embracing who you are, loving who you are, being the person you want to be. It is learning to nurture your body, fuel your body correctly, exercise regularly, and don’t feel that life is over and you should just go and sit on the couch and eat chocolate and drink wine, that’s ok, in moderation, but get up, get moving, have some fun and live life to the full. This is not a dress rehearsal…
