Fit, Funky & Fab ‘Filosophy’

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE “ FIT, FUNKY & (possibly Forty) FABULOUS”

MY PHILOSOPHY

  • GET FIT

    GET FIT

There really are no excuses... just get up off the couch and come have some fun with me!

    GET IT DONE
  • GET FUNKY

    GET FUNKY

When in doubt, wear less and add more glitter. You can never have enough sparkles.

    THE 'FUN' IN FUNKY
  • BE FABULOUS

    BE FABULOUS

Listen to that quiet inner voice, for that is showing you how to be the fabulous person you really are.

    AB FAB, DARLING

FIT, FUNKY & FORTY

I created this title to cover any one who is approaching 40, is in their forty’s, or even past through into the next decade… but feels that you want to be fit, healthy, funky, modern, in tune with life, be able to embrace all that life has to offer, and not let an age or a number get in your way. That’s the way I feel about life.

I have had my ups and downs, I have experienced many things, good and bad, as many of you have also, and instead of beating up on oneself, I want to use my life experiences and my knowledge of the fitness world to reach those wanting more out of life. I want to be of service to those who really have a passion with keeping Fit, Funky and Fabulous as well as healthy, in touch with my ‘Inner self’ , and share this ‘filosphy’ with other like minded people. Let’s have some fun….life should be filled with joy. Not fear, frustration and sadness.

Well, they say life begins at forty, and I’d have to say, I agree with that. It may have actually started a few years earlier than that for me, but not by much.

Remember when you were young, say in your 20’s and life just seemed so much easier. There were no children to pick up after and feed constantly, there were no dirty nappies, to change, there were no mortgage payments, credit card payments and insurance payments to worry about. And you could eat however much pizza chips and ice cream, and drink copious amounts of wine and it didn’t make one difference to whether you could fit into your jeans or not.

So why has all that changed the way we look, the way we feel about the way we look and our bodies respond to food and exercise. There are a lot of factors that contribute to our bodies, our mind and our soul……and I like to tackle these adversity’s, these hurdles, these limiting beliefs here in at ‘Fit Funky and Fabulous’  and on my Facebook page.

I don’t know about you but I have definitely made choices that if I had my time back, I’d do things a little differently. But they have all put me on a path that has lead me to where I am now. And I think we all have to look at these sometimes inconvenient hiccups as gifts, because it develops the person we are now. I used to be paranoid about my age… I used to think I had a used by date because of that number. WRONG! I am in my fifties now and proud of it. Embrace who you are right now… and love it!

If we take a look at exercise and nutrition for example… what may work for a 25 year old woman working a 8-5 job, will probably not work for a woman who is 45, running after kids and working shift work to keep the mortgage payments up to date. There are so many factors controlling the way our bodies metabolize food and respond to exercise. And more importantly, hormones, and stress levels are probably worlds apart. And this opens up a whole new world!!

So in a nutshell, ‘Fit Funky and possibly maybe forty and totally Fabulous’ is really a way of life. It is embracing who you are, loving who you are, being the person you want to be. It is learning to nurture your body, fuel your body correctly, exercise regularly, and don’t feel that life is over and you should just go and sit on the couch and eat chocolate and drink wine, that’s ok, in moderation, but get up, get moving, have some fun and live life to the full. This is not a dress rehearsal…

Live, Laugh, Love.
